AMA(SA) Medico-Legal Register

AMA(SA) works with the Law Society of SA to improve access to medical specialists for Return to Work SA, Allianz and public liability claims patients – particularly in the areas of spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology and psychiatry.

AMA(SA) Annual Reports

Each year the AMA(SA) publishes Annual Reports for the information of its members. In recent years these have been published electronically, but members are welcome to request a hard copy version.

The Annual Report provides information on the activities, advocacy and strategic initiatives of the AMA(SA) over the preceeding year, as well as committee involvements, council movements, financial and audit reports.

Updates to the Award Rates under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2010 and Nurses Award 2010

Minimum Rates of Pay Changes
Operative Date: From the first full pay period to commence on or after 1 July 2018

The Fair Work Commission has announced a 3.5% increase to minimum wages following its 2018 Annual Wage Review.

The increase applies from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2018.

AMA(SA) Benefits and Services Access Policy

One of the main roles of the AMA(SA) is to protect and support the individual and collective needs of our members’ workplace, industrial and medico-legal interests.

The AMA(SA) is not a government funded organisation.  The work done on behalf of members is funded by the collective annual subscriptions of the Association’s membership.  These funds are directed into activities and services that directly benefit members and align with the goals and objectives of the Association.

Child Safe Environment

All health services, including general practices, day procedure centres, Private Hospitals and other health services, need to:

  • Conduct criminal history assessments on certain employees, contractors and volunteers who are working with children (unless an exemption applies)
  • The lodgement of a Child Safe Environment Compliance Statement with the Department for Families and Communities

Update or Renew Membership

You may opt to pay your membership fees monthly or annually. In the case of annual payment, the membership year runs from 1 January - 31 December, with fees due by 31 December each year.
