Treating an injured worker who may require referral to a specialist for assessment or treatment for a work-related injury?
To help treating doctors caring for patients with a work-related injury, the AMA(SA), in partnership with ReturnToWorkSA, provides the following lists as a referral resource.
This online directory is produced as a referral resource for GPs and other doctors who are caring for patients with a work-related injury. It provides a list and contact details of specialists with an interest in treating patients with a work-related injury.
Simply click on the links below to find contact details of specialists with an interest in treating patients with a work-related injury in the listed specialties. These lists also appear at the bottom of the page as PDF documents.
As the lists are updated several times throughout the year, we suggest that you bookmark this page or save it to your 'favourites' to access the updated details, when you need them.
Note: for information on accredited assessors for impairment assessment, go to the ReturnToWorkSA website here
Please note - The AMA(SA) and ReturnToWorkSA do not specifically endorse the doctors listed. This list is provided as a resource to assist treating GPs.
Who can go on the list?
The list is open to registered South Australian medical practitioners with relevant specialist qualifications. Those doctors on the lists have voluntarily opted in via relevant professional associations – the lists do not represent all the specialists who are available and are treating injured workers. Patients seeking a specialist should in the first instance consult with their general practitioner.
Inclusion on the lists is free of charge, and any medical practitioners interested in being included are encouraged to fill out the form below 'Specialist Contact Details for Integrated List' and return it to firstname.lastname@example.org. The list is also promoted through ReturnToWorkSA's newly implemented mobile case management model. The AMA(SA) and ReturnToWorkSA do not specifically endorse the doctors listed: the list is provided as a resource to assist treating doctors.
Medico Legal Register
The Medico-Legal Register is a supplementary list, provided to help people locate doctors to undertake medico-legal consultations and reporting.
Any medical practitioners with questions about the list are invited to contact the AMA(SA) on 8361 0100 or email email@example.com
